VV) continues to destroy Prizren, the inspector's director builds houses without permission

The city of Prizren continues to be degraded by without permission and without criteria in almost all of the city's neighbourhoods.

The responsibility for overseeing construction in Prizren is to have the Directorate of Inspectorate in this municipality, whose director is Edon Mucaj, who came from the ranks of the Vetevendosje movement, which also leads this municipality since 2017.

While director Mucaj until he is called to intervene in the event someone does construction without permission and without criteria, it is he who is building his house without permission in the “Arabana” neighbourhood in Prizren.

IndexOnline's been doing a few-day research and going to the scene to prove these claims by residents who have denounced this case in municipal organs.

The current Inspector's director in Prizren has used the time of pandemic this year to build another floor of his house located on the “Cerchiz Topul” neighbourhood “Arbana”, a house which is all built without permission about 15 years ago.

According to IndexOnline sources, Mucaj has applied for legalisation of his house in 2015 to the Urbanism Directorate in Prizren. At the time of his application, he has only two floors of the house recorded in his file, while now he is continuing to build the third floor without being blocked by anyone. Even on the day that the IndexOnline team visited his home there, it was noted that they were continuing to work on the third floor of the house.

IndexOnline has learned that this overbuilding has been denounced by neighborhood residents since the beginning of this year at the time the Directorate of Inspectorate was being led by Islam Thaci. But according to these sources, municipal inspectors have been at the scene of the event and kept the processrbal in this case, but it is unknown where it ended up.

During this time, the change of director of the Inspectorate, where, in July of this year, the mayor of Prizren, Mytaher Haskuka, appoints Edon Muchane.

For all these findings, IndexOnline has contacted director Edon Mucaj over the phone to ask if the inspector's work has stopped and there is a work permit for his work?

Muchaj has initially given no clear answers saying that we should send the questions in writing so that it can be given time to clarify the case. But not a week later, the director of the Inspectorate in Prizren has returned us even though we have contacted him several times over the telephone.
