The US Food and Bars Administration (FDA) has approved on Saturday an emergency authorisation for the use of the Regeneron antibody cocktail as treatment for patients infected with COVID-19.
The current American president, Donald Trump, received the therapy called GRAEN-COV2, when he was admitted to the hospital after the coronary infection.
Treatment should be introduced into the bloodstream, and it aims to imitate an immune response to infection. Cochteti lowered the number of hospital stays for Ovid-19 to several patients within 28 days of treatment, the FDA said in a press release.
Regeneron Executive Chief Dr. Leonard S. Schleifer, also said the request could initially exceed supply, “making it even more critical for federal and state governments to ensure that REEN-COV2 is distributed fairly and equally for patients most in need”
When used to handle Covid-19 for authorized population, the known and possible benefits of these antibodies exceed the known and possible risks”, the FDA said.
