Teary harbor for the arrest of Jakup Krasniqi: There's been a need for so many cops

Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj, tearful, has spoken at a news conference following the arrest and launch of member of this party, Jakup Krasniqi, to the detention of Specialised Chambers in The Hague. Limaj has said that there has been a need for the Specialised Chambers to operate with such large police forces.

We think that such scenes have been completely unnecessary. The commitment of many police forces has been to disproportionate with the need. If it was necessary for justice, it could be quite different, without the need for such reinforcements, to go home at 6 o'clock in the morning at this time of COVID, without having to traumatize the family. But simply recognizing Jakup Krasniqi's personality, this could have been done quite differently”, Limaj said.

We as Initiative have always been without exclusive and uncompetitive in serving justice. We've always been in the interests of justice”, Limaj added.

Valon Hasani, Jakup Krasniqi's lawyer, has earlier announced that his client was arrested at the order of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and that he has already left for The Hague.

Hasan has stated that Krasniqi had no warrants until today, when he has even been handed over to the warrant and arrest.

Otherwise, the raid on his home in Pristina had started since 6:30 in the morning, and lasted until about 1600. The operation has also taken place in Krasniqi's hometown, in the village of Negrovc in the Drensa municipality.
