Rexhep Selimi has read a statement before the Special Court saying he believes in justice.

He has said this Court is anti-Albanian.

Your Honor, I know it may not be here to talk about the legitimacy of this court, knowing it was founded by the Parliament of Kosovo.

I want to stress that I, as deputy to that Parliament, had rejected its establishment, not as an expression against justice, but we wanted justice to be done by Kosovo institutions in Kosovo.

After Kosovo declared its independence, Serbia had indicted Kosovo in the JND over claims that the declaration of independence was illegal. The JND ruling granted legitimacy to Kosovo's independence, but only a few months after that decision, Serbia and Senator Marty issued a report on Kosovo's JND decision and legitimate independence.

So I felt that a court of anti-Albanian goals should not be established.

But this court is a fact, and today I'm not like an MP who has opposed this court but I'm like a fighter. UCK and its founder in the face of a prosecution indictment, aware of the seriousness of the case.

Our roles here are divided, we are separate, but please make me believe our purpose here will be justice, and most of all the truth.

I saw the prosecution's indictment, it was a serious indictment, volume, but, above all, unfair, inaccurate to me, but also the war of my people and the country where I come from.

But this process will prove that we are a people who fought oppression for freedom.

This war will be like this even after this process, anyone who has doubts will be convinced that neither I nor UCK have anything to do with crime nor common criminal enterprise.

But I have fought against Serbia, against the occupant Serbia, against Serbia, which has only brought evil upon my people: murder, cleansing, violence and genocide.

That's why I've only done my duty as a citizen of my country.

I'm just a deliverer.
