The supply of the Serbian state with arsenal weapons from Russia, for security experts in Kosovo, is seen as a threat to the region, particularly the risk of aggression against Kosovo. Therefore, they demand that Kosovo institutions increase investments in defence infrastructure.
Weeks ago, the Serbian state received as donation from Russia T-72-type tanks, while the donation includes six MiG-29 fighter planes and 30 armoured detection vehicles BRDM-2.
Nuredin Ibishi, connoisseur of the security circumstances, thinks supply with these weapons to Serbia made it a threat first for Kosovo, but other countries that do not have good reports.
Ibishi says that even the state of Kosovo should be more politically prepared and functional in terms that as soon as it is under the umbrella of NATO, as it will thus be more comfortable in the face of any aggression from Serbia.
“E has a disbalancing of forces in the region, especially with a large increase of more than 1 billion recently, which has declared investment in weapons and combat equipment that makes Serbia vulnerable to neighbours in the first place for Kosovo, but other countries that do not have good reports. It is a priority of ours that we have the international presence of KFOR here and normal and our tendencies or demands that we have the KSF as armed forces should also be in political and functional terms to speed up procedures to integrate into NATO and when under this umbrella we are much more comfortable...1050. With all this arsenal of weapons, Croatia and other countries that are in the region are also at risk, and it's really a boost to us that we're better prepared politically and functionally”, Ibishi said.
And for security expert Drizan Shala, Serbia's military infrastructure equipment is being done in order because the Serbian state is trying to be a leader in the region with military power.
But according to him, this endangers Kosovo, as the Serbian state continues to have an interest in destabilizing Kosovo.
This directly and directly fits the country's security because we with Serbia have many issues to negotiate because the Serbian state does not recognise us as an independent and democratic state has territorial claims on Kosovo. . This suggests to me that the Serbian state has direct interests to destabilise Kosovo through some non-classical intervention, but through an intervention of parallel structures that it already has in Kosovo through the activism of paramilitary, military groups that were used in the Crime on the part of Russia. Because Serbia is also taking the Crimea model to make any plan of classical invasions regarding interventions in Kosovo“, he stressed.
Shala says that Kosovo, in addition to increasing investments in the military, should pressure through NATO and friendly states that Serbia does not use.
“in the international arena in diplomatic channels asked NATO from friendly states to put constant pressure on these weapons not to be used through various economic and other sanctions, but in the internal aspect Kosovo must stop investments in road infrastructure. So we need to focus and turn to investment in collective protection because Kosovo is crying in this respect. We have a 10-year comprehensive KSF and armed forces plan, but this plan needs to be modified and adapted to the current developments in the region. It needs to be cut down on an extremely large budget”, Shala told Kosova Preress.
The arms donation coming to Serbia from Russia is part of an agreement Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, reached with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu in 2016.
The deal was then approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
