To this end, it was the voting process in today's elections for the first of this municipality in which the tight race is expected to take place between LDK candidate Nexhami Rudari and the one of the Speed of Bulqi Vetevendosje.
Sami Kurteshi, CEC member from VV ranks, has complained of irregularities in the voting process, where voters are not allowed to vote because of the lack of identification.
The issue has to do with valid reporting. There are complaints that voters are not allowed to vote because they have no valid IDs, due to the MPB's decision that all persons in the Republic of Kosovo who have no valid IDs since January 1st 2020 can vote with documents expired by 1 January 2020. We as the CEC announced to let people vote, all voters of the Republic of Kosovo who have expired on January 1st, 2020”, Kurteshi has said.
Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka has said it is not CEC's fault and that this issue has been discussed earlier. She has said that citizens who have expired with their ID deadlines have other documents they can vote on.
“The CEC has not made a decision because this issue has been discussed and all citizens of the Podujevo and North Mitrovica municipality who have expired with IDs have other documents. We have discussed this matter before, and we have not made decisions. CEC decisions are not made on election day regarding documents. Decisions are made before election day, where conflict situations can be announced and cannot be created. So we're not at meetings, we're at a regular media conference and decisions are made at CEC meetings... The conference ends and we continue if we have agenda points and if we call the meeting”, Dhaka said.
After that, CEC member from LDK ranks Sami Hamiti and the one from Vetevendosje ranks Sami Kurteshi have had a verbal clash over the participation of the NGO Gani Bobiı Institute for exit-poli.
“Even for the public administration ministry cars, you took your notes and misfited Vetevendosje”, Hamiti said. Kurteshi: “And that's why we report to you” Hamiti: “You don't have anything to tell us, but you did. Even exit-polo, you're misusing the “Gani Bobby” you're responsible, you're misusing the Gani Bobi institute. You're misusing the CEC's decision on cars”. Kurteshi: “The items that were without were cars for which the CEC did not inform the members...” Hamiti: Your assistant took the number of cars, after that you continued “. Kurteshi: We have the information and we'll open it. The stakes are yours. As a member of the CEC, I haven't been informed about signs or cars, as soon as it's agreed, we've opened”. Hamiti: You've opened it, but after you received your notes, you've received your confirmation”. Kurteshi: “The information will be opened at”. Hamiti: “Don't misuse, you're lying to the Gani Bobby” institute. Kurteshi: “No, the lies are yours and don't create incidents when we inform the media. The media should be informed of everything, we should be transparent and this is transparency”.
