Sali Berisha: I never said Hashim Thaci killed Ali Uka.

Albania's former president and prime minister, Sali Berisha, has said he has never declared former President Hashim Thaci killed Ali Uka.

Berisha has announced tonight that he has never said Thaci killed journalist Ali Uka, he has said only that former President Thaci was in the room with journalist Uka.

He said he has only been aware that Thaci was questioned by the tribunal at the time regarding his murder, but he says he has never accused Thaci of killing Ali Uka.

“To ensure that I have never accused Hahsim Thaci of Ali Uka, what I said about Ali Uka is that Ali Uka was killed and had a roommate Hashim Thaci, I have repeated to reporters that I have no knowledge who killed Ali Uka, I knew that Hashim Thaci was called to the Court, and what has been proved I absolutely have no knowledge and that if I was aware that Hashim Thaci was involved in Ali Uka's murder, I had never been disappointed that I would never hold a soul, but I didn't have any, and I haven't, and I didn't say, Berisha, the paper, Berisha said.
