Kosovo police have no statistics on which gender has been subjected to more violence, KOHA reports. However, according to 24-hour Kosovo Police reports, in October alone most cases of violence have been reported by women for various family causes.
Even according to psychiatrists Blerina Hoxha, violence in our country is mostly undergoing female genders.
When we talk about domestic violence, it's not just about practicing the opposite sex, and unfortunately it's about children. In children, the damage is great, whether in an emotional sense manifested in the form of discontent and anxiety and reduced in the form of depression or even after the trauma that may later be presented in their lives. These are clinical manifestations that have been subjected to violence”, she has said.
Hoxha has said that pandemic has influenced the increase in cases, as she adds that isolation is both a factor of causing anxiety and limiting freedom of movement.
When we accept that we have problems managing strong emotions then some of the work has been done and the second step is to ask for help. With psychologists and then with psychiatrists”, Hoxha added.
And from Kosovo police say these cases are handled with priority from them. They urge all who are victims of domestic violence to report the case.
