In an interview for Russian state television about this agreement, Putin was asked about the possibility that the new government's arrival in Armenia would abolish the agreement reached.
“This would be a big mistake,” answered Putin, writes The Guardian, followed Periscope.
The agreement, which gave Azerbaijan significant territorial concessions after a bloody six-week war, was seen as Armenia's capitulation and prompted fierce protests against the Pasinian government.
The country's president has called for early elections and has asked the foreign minister to resign this week.
Armenian security services last week said they had prevented the attempted murder of Prime Minister Pasinyan, including an opposition politician and a war veteran.
