During a meeting in Zeren Ovale on Thursday, the outgoing president asked some of his top advisers, including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeon, “if he was able to take action against Iran's key nuclear sites in the coming weeks --”, the paper says, Perskopi.
Senior officials “discouraged the president from this military movement”, warning that an attack could escalate into a broader conflict in the recent weeks of his presidency.
Trump reportedly asked this question after reporting the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which says Iran is continuing to enrich uranium.
