During Wednesday and Thursday, Specialised Chambers in The Hague have confirmed charges against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
For what there were numerous reactions. And recently, former Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga has responded.
She has written that no one can desecrate Kosovo's war for independence.
“I am listening to the latest developments regarding the Specialised Chambers in The Hague. It is important to remember that: No one can desecrate Kosovo's fight for freedom and independence! The Kosovo Liberation Army war was a struggle for freedom and liberation from Serbia's occupation, whose army, at the time, was committing mass killings, ethnic cleansing, violations, torture against Kosovo Albanian civilians. In this dark time, it is important to remain united, to have patience, and to have faith in righteousness! All countries in the region that have been at war among themselves must face the past. Kosovo has expressed readiness for this confrontation and has always responded to the call of justice. Serbia, meanwhile, as the aggressor of the wars in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia has long had to follow this example! Without closing the dark chapters of the war, we cannot build lasting peace and stability in the region!”, Jahjaga wrote.
