The country's largest party chief, Isa Mustafa, is not interested at all in who is willing to become the country's new president. While Ramush Haradinaj is turning himself in for Chief of State, Vjosa Osmani is a deserter of the President's duty, Mustafa has the focus elsewhere
LDK leader Isa Mustafa, in a written reply to Express, has stated that immediate support is important to those facing the Special Court process.
Mustafa says there must be a platform to present before international opinion the pure war of the KLA and recall Serbia's crimes in Kosovo.
“I am willing at this time to talk to everyone, how to organise and support our people who are facing the Special Court process, to take care of their defence, because they are now only suspects, and only the judicial process can prove their guilt, make a platform for introducing international opinion and recall the pure war of the KLA, and the crimes committed by Serbs in Kosovo<1>, Mustafa has declared.
Asked about statements by AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj, who said if he does not become president, Mustafa says he is not at all concerned about who wants to become the country's president.
“Fare is not currently concerned about who wants to become the president of Kosovo or play the president's role. I'm worried about the serious and sad situation we are in and about the need to get together in the interest of the country”, Mustafa said.
The first of LDK has claimed to have spoken on the phone with the new PDK chairman, Enver Hoxhaj.
He says Hoxhan has not discussed the post of president.
I have not met with Mr. Enver Hoxhaj. I talked to him on the phone about the situation. We haven't talked about president or government”, Mustafa declared.
Last Thursday, President Hashim Thaci resigned, leaving for The Hague, where he will face war crimes charges from the Special Court. Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veselin and Rexhep Selimi also went there.
Meanwhile, in Kosovo, Presidential task leader Vjosa Osmani has become a supporter of Kurti, who has favoured Vetevendosje's stance since the LDK-VVV coalition has been broken.
In this situation, Ramush Haradinaj, in any public appearance, is self-producing for the president's position and is threatening that if he does not become head of state, the country will go to new elections.
Isa Mustafa, days earlier, had not denied the possibility of going to new elections if they did not agree on the president's name. He even said that based on political power, The PDK could meet with the president because the LDK has the prime minister, while Vetevendosje has Parliamentary Speaker.
President Vjosa Osmani's duty is not known if he would provoke the possibility of taking the country into elections as he had repeatedly demanded since Albin Kurti was dismissed from the prime minister's post.
Osmani could retain only six months of position as State Chief, when the new president's voting procedures should be completed.
