After 20 years of government in the Podujevo municipality, The LDK on Sunday has lost elections by its former member, now part of Vetevendosje, Speed Bulqi.
But this defeat, for LDK chief Isa Mustafa, is not the overthrow of his party. He even says that when Agim Veliu resigned from Podujevo to become minister, they were aware that the continuation of his mandate could be taken by another party.
The “those who think we're going to turn the LDK upside down, since in Podujevo it has won the VV for a 10-month extension of the mandate are wrong. The LDK leader has claimed that within his party, there are people who have enjoyed VVA victory in Podujevo.
Some people from LDK who have enjoyed Vv's victory are testifying that they have never been with LDK. They lied to us in a way”, Mustafa said.
Mustafa has said that the LDK as the centre-right party differs from the leftist revolutionary parties. According to him, reforms are often made within the party.
“The LDK is the centre-right party, the conservative party, with clear programming and orientation. We see many of the leftist, revolutionary parties. We make continued reforms, but in the case of European People's Party orientation”, he has said.
LDK chief says his party is ready for elections, whether municipal or general.
“as far as municipal or general elections are concerned, we are ready tomorrow. Without wire hesitation”, Mustafa has declared.
