Mustafa about the economic package not passing: No opposition to destroying economy

LDK chief Isa Mustafa has spoken about the economic package, which is not getting the 61 votes needed in the Assembly to pass. The first of the LDK has said the opposition is becoming too aggressive in a matter that is vital to the country's economy. Mustafa said responsibility originally belongs to position [...]
Mustafa said the responsibility initially lies with the position he is failing to meet to vote on, and then the opposition, according to him, is mistaken for making opposition by destroying the country's economy.
LDK chief Isa Mustafa has again talked about possible expansion of the coalition, which the PDK reportedly could join. Mustafa has said that the LDK is open to discuss the president's post issue.
The LDK chief has also talked about clashes between LDK and LVV deputies at the Kosovo Assembly session, not passing the draft economic recovery bill, possible PDK involvement in Government, relations with the AAK as a coalition partner, and the issue of the new president to be resolved in the constitutional term.
Mustafa in this interview has said the Parliament has become dysfunctional and, according to him, is at least resembled the legislature and much more a theater with bad public performances.
Question: Mustafa, the PDK's LVV, is criticising the government Hoti for failing to pass the draft economic recovery bill, why isn't this law passing so important?
Isa Mustafa: The basic responsibility lies in the position, then in the opposition. The position is required to secure 61 votes, which can ensure that it is well co-ordinated, as it did in the first reading. The opposition is mistaken for making opposition with a vital issue, with economic survival and social life. There is no opposition to the destruction of the economy, with job failure and poverty. No one needs to win elections if it has contributed to the collapse of the economy.
Question: Mr. Mustafa, how do you assess the recent clashes between LDK and LVV deputies at the Kosovo Assembly session?
Isa Mustafa: The Assembly has become dysfunctional. It is at least similar to the legislature and much more a theater with bad public performances. LVV is extremely aggressive and with these behaviors poses a permanent threat to scenes of violence. Served with offensive and provocative language, both towards the prime minister and the LDK deputies. It is unacceptable to take unfound causes for confrontation and political benefits.
Question: Have you repented or done well to destroy the coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement?
Isa Mustafa: Even this LVV discurs says we've done well, even very well. There was a coalition in which the VV after it had drawn up few LDK figures, had the claim to humiliate the LDK. We didn't let that happen.
Question: Following new circumstances and former President Hashim Thaci's resignation, we now have a new moment- will there be political agreement for the president's post?
Isa Mustafa: A political subject agreement must be reached, now or after the elections. There is no vote for president without an agreement, because no parliamentary party and no coalition has and will have enough votes to meet the president's election procedures. I appreciate that it is better to make a good deal now than to enter a cycle which, after the elections, brings us to the same place.
Question: Mr. Mustafa, in public, is discussing a possibility of expanding the government coalition even with the PDK, have you recently held a meeting with the leaders of this party?
“We didn't keep meetings. We're also open to discuss this possibility as part of the package for the election agreement of President”, Mustafa has said about Telegrafi.
Question: Mr. Mustafa, the AAK chairman, has declared that this party insists on the post of president, is there reconciliation between you on this subject?
Isa Mustafa: In the coming weeks, we will initiate a table of parliamentary parties, from which definitions of principles, criteria and potential candidates for this position would emerge. After that, we will be declared for the LDK's political will for any candidate or new elections.
Question: Are there differences between partners in government today?
Isa Mustafa: There have been disagreements about the process of dialogue, whether in Brussels or Washington, but I appreciate they are brought together. There are still, in some cases, conduct of some ministers that do not coincide with their role as members of the government.
Question: Mr. Mustafa, are you personally interested in the presidential post or is there any other proposal from the LDK?
Isa Mustafa: In this mandate, the LDK has the country's prime minister. We do not even claim the position of president. If we go to the elections, any options remain open.
Question: Mr. Mustafa, is the LDK in favour of new parliamentary elections?
Isa Mustafa: We appreciate that elections in this pandemic situation should not be held. But if we disagree with the President, we'll agree for elections.
