Miserable Septembers: Haskuka exeged

Prizren Mayor Mytaher Haskuka has said he has carefully followed the concerns raised by citizens about statues placed in this municipality.

Haskuka has said that in terms of this development wrong information has been circulated, since it says Septembers set up in Prizren have not been carried out with the municipality's first tenders.

I'm glad that Albanians love Prizren and love our national heroes, because your concerns are a sign of love. It is better to criticize because of love than to keep silent because of incompatibility.

First let me state: Skenderbeu and Adam Jashari have already taken up residence in Prizren, and they will be there forever, regardless of whether the form of presentation can undergo improvements, to achieve the proper artistic and historical level. It is fact and achievement, in the historic and spiritual capital of the Albanian national project, to be violated by Gjergj Kastriot and Baca Ademi.

Second, I want to explain something, because I've seen the wrong information going around. As for Gjergj Kastriot's September, it has not been carried out in tenders or in municipal money, so there is no truth in the institutions for stealing or selecting a practice artist. That September was made by the diaspora association “The Lands of Arbrit”, who have chosen the artist and implemented the monument by their means and which I thank so much for their great contribution. The municipality, according to the agreement, has offered the site and the realisation of the peedestal, and in the project we have the realisation of a square, around the” monument.

In addition, he claims that as leader of the Prizren municipality, it is not the authority that decides on the artistic values of the country's historical figures.

I am not the authority that rules for artistic values or historical ones. But, I want to show the citizens that we will establish a commission on this issue, consisting of art professors, urbanistics and history, from Kosovo or Albanian lands, which the commission will be tasked with bringing in an advisory report, how it should be handled with September, and what we should do with it. According to that advisory report, we will discuss in the municipal assembly, and make decisions to act, with full transparency and in line with the interest shown by the entire nationwide public. Anyway, I repeat, Skenderbeu is in Prizren, and it will always be”.
