“Mic” of Russian secret services requires France's investigation into Kosovo's support

Marian is married to Russian Irina Chaikholina. According to German media Deutche Welle, Marian has been co-chairman of NGO “The French-Russian Dialogue Association”, which is committed to “strengthening strategic relations”, between the two nations. On the Russian side, co-chairman positions Vladimir Yakuin, formerly until 2015, the Russian Railway's powerful leader. According to some media, Yakuin is a former intelligence service officer and a truster by President Vladimir Putin.

In private, Marian has very good contacts with Russia as well. His wife, Irina, with whom he has been married for more than ten years, comes from Yekaterinburg. A request for an interview in DW remained unanswered by the French politician. What falls most with Russian figures is his friendship with Sergei Naryskin, the director of SVR (one of the Russian secret services).

Thierry Marian has been the transport minister in Nicolas Sarkozy's government, but had left because of extreme views of immigration.

In 2015, Thierry Marian had demanded that Russia remove the sanctions he had imposed on him in the case of the crime invasion.

Even in 2015, for Russian media, he had declared that “according to his personal view, annexing the Crimea from Russia is a fact achieved and final, supported by referendum”.

Despite the French Foreign Ministry's remarks, he had twice visited Crimea. One of the times he had officially met with his friend Sergei Naryskin, the current director of one of the Russian secret services. During this visit, he had kissed the monument of Russian occupants to Crime.

Thierry Marian is the main man for international relations of the Marine Le Pen Party, which is committed to good co-operation with Russia.

Fine by chance, the visits of Marian and his friends to Crime were financed by CFG Capital. According to the Russian publication Vedosti, Marian is a member of the CFG Capital Consultative Commission. The investment fund itself was established by Pierre Louvre, a Frenchman in Russian service who has been doing business in Russia but not in France for a long time.

Among Marian's colleagues, the Counseling Commission is Alexander Torsh, the first deputy chairman of the Council of the Federation of Russia and the same person to vote for the war with Ukraine and the invasion of Crime. But that is not the main issue either. The main issue is that this investment fund, together with Marshall Capital, established a special fund in 2014, with 2 billion euros to invest in Russia. The Marshall Capital company is owned by Russian oligarch Constantin Malofeev, which is considered one of the leading sponsors of so-called DNR (Donetsk People's Republic) and LNR (Public Republic of Luhansk).

Paradox: European Parliament Puts It on Foreign Influence Commission

Meanwhile, French media “Liberty”, published a letter in September, entitled “in the European Parliament, the strange appointment of the Thierry Marian”. Furthermore, the French newspaper says: “The RNDeputet and former minister of Sarcozy will join a commission tasked with combating foreign intervention within the European Union. As MP, on January 15, 2020, in the European Parliament, Marian had raised criticism of the treatment Montenegro was dealing with Serbs and Orthodox churches.
