German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that restrictive measures against COVID-19 will continue even during the holiday season.
The restrictive measures imposed to slow down the spread of the coronary to Germany will be in force at least in late December, and perhaps longer, Chancellor Angela Merkel has said.
In view of the high number of infections, we assume that restrictions that are in effect before Christmas will continue to be valid by early January, of course for most parts of Germany”, she said, The Guardian reported.
Unfortunately, we should say that we cannot promise a relief for Christmas and New Year”, she added.
Merkel confirmed that the Germans would be allowed to gather in groups of 10 people during Christmas. But it moved the public to remember that there some 27 million defenseless Germans cannot be protected.
She also said that the number of cases of COVID-19 in Germany was “being stuck at a very high level --”.
