According to Reuters agency, the United States in the last 24 hours has recorded 129,606 new cases of coronary infection, marking the record since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the middle of the presidential elections, this increase represents the fourth time with more than 100,000 cases per day in the United States, which on average are marking 95,000 cases per 24 hours in recent weeks.
Twenty states out of 50 total reported record numbers of cases Friday, as much as Thursday, when the daily figure at the national level went to over 120,000, Reuters writes, broadcast the Express.
The state of Illinois for the first time recorded over 10,000 daily cases, while record figures were also reported in Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Several cities and states have set up police hours and banned gatherings in an effort to combat further spread of the virus, but the central government has not taken measures nationwide. In 17 countries, wearing masks is not required.
