Former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is seeking to capture the country's president's chair following the confirmed indictment against former President Hashim Thaci. In intent towards the president's office, Haradinaj has demanded votes from the two opposition parties -- Vetevendosje Movement (LVV) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
A few days ago, Haradinaj unveiled his intention to get the support of LVV and PDK, which includes a “wine deal” with the two opposition parties.
I've offered to get the PDK's trust. That would be the vote for this party for any position of one of their own, whether the prime minister, prime minister. I can do that after the next election. So they give me the votes now and we give it back when they need it. They can vote even without participating in Government, but their participation would create stability. We are making promises in principle. It's their decision. They may say we love your vote then, but if they ask for it is a political debt”, Haradinaj said.
The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) said that the coalition parties -- the LDK, the Initiative and the AKR -- are respected for his figure, but that they need 2/3 of the deputies' votes.
What's in my candidacy that's stable? I trust a number of citizens in Kosovo even if they are my voters. Representatives of freedom, of the KLA have a respect for me, even though they don't give me a vote all over”, Haradinaj said.
Such an offer, Haradinaj said, could also make for Albin Kurti's party.
But LVV deputy chairman Glauk Konjufca called this Haradinaj offer a revulsive, while saying they would bargain for the position.
“Ramushi gave a concept of the wine vote. I consider that neither should shopping be done on this topic, as what Kosovo needs is a new government. A government that has cut off your life in March of this year. LVV thinks we should have new choices in the country. The LVV didn't enter any market for the president, it's wrong, even disgusting”, Conjufca said.
While PDK deputies, Abelard Tahiri and Bekim Haxhiu, were the only officials from this subject to talk about Haradinaj's offer, though they had no concrete answers. They said this has not yet been discussed in PDK
