Lekaj: Former KLA Judges to Turn White

The deputy leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Pal Lekaj, has called the country harmful and the liberation war the charges brought against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. Despite that, Lekaj in this interview for “The new age” has said that there is no indictment that can be [...]

We fought for freedom and our rights. They fought to survive oppression and depression. There is no charge or charge that can change this”, he said. Lekaj has estimated that KLA truth will come to light during the trial process in The Hague.

In this context, he has expressed confidence that Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi, Jakup Krasniqi and Sali Mustafa will be acquitted.

The “expects them and all of us, the KLA and Kosovo to come out. We didn't fight because we liked war, but because we had no choice. We tried it with peaceful policy and negotiations, while Belgrade responded with violence, genocide and massacre”, Lekaj has declared, adding that KLA protection should be on the focus.

We must protect it because it is sacred, because it is the foundation of Kosovo's independence. Of course more needs to be done. There will always be room for more, not just today, but for life of 18x1>, Lekay said.

Furthermore, Lekaj has spoken of the opposition's request that Kosovo go to early parliamentary elections and the AAK proposal that Ramush Haradinaj be president.

Lekaj has said the AAK's position is clear: either Haradinaj president or the country goes to the polls. Our position is clear, to agree to elect the president. If not, elections remain an option. We can't allow constitutional vacuum”, Lekaj stated.
