Gashi, in a proposal for Metro Journal, finds that Basha had participated as an interpreter in controlling his apartment, and according to former commander's family, the Albanian politician had behaved badly with them.
“Lul Basha, he didn't arrest me. But, he participated in controlling my apartment as an interpreter, and the family complained about his bad behavior during the” raid, Gashi said.
In addition, it for Metro says it does not want to become part of the debate in Albania, while stressing that the Albanian medium “Top Channel” changed the news title.
Gashi adds that as a result of his diary's disappearance and with this case loss of evidence, the process against him lasted 16 years.

I don't understand why Top Channel changed the news title. I had not wanted to be part of the political debate in Albania and my interview to be used for facts and evidence missing from UNMIK, as a result of the disappearance of my diary, which I possess official testimony from EULEX, which proves my diary loss by UNMIK. As a result of losing these evidence, the process against us lasted a full 16 years, and in his absence we were found guilty”, he said.
"Despite the role of Lulzim Basha, in translating my journal, as one of UNMIK's most trusted translators, I do not want to be part of political debates in Albania, or misuse of this story by political subjects for electoral campaign”," Gashi explained.
Finally, he told Metro that no one could escape history for individual actions during Kosovo's historic events.
Otherwise, besides being tried by the Special Prosecutor for War Crimes, Gashi has again been invited to an interview by the Special Prosecutor's Office in The Hague. His interview took place in August of this year.
