KMDLNJ: “EULEX is using the Kosovo Police as wing workers”

KMDLNj says EULEX police are ignoring extremes Kosovo institutions, while stressing that the Kosovo Police are using it as a <x0-> armworker”.

Meanwhile, KMDLNj adds that there is no point in raiding their homes since they surrendered peacefully, but that all of this according to them is only a demonstration of the arrogance and aggression of the Special Court Police, which, in effect, says to have the intimidation of all those who disagree with it.

KMDLNj after being informed that EULEX police forces and Special Court from the morning of November 6th 2020 have begun raiding the house of outgoing President Hashim Thaci and former Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini, the first in Caglavica and the second in the centre of town, near PDK headquarters. After making public the confirmation of the indictment by the Special Court against outgoing President Hashim Thaci and former Kosovo Assembly Chairman Kadri Veselini, Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel surrendered voluntarily and without any opposition to EULEX headquarters and who, then, along with VV parliamentary group chief Rexhep Selimi, were taken to the Special Air Force of Prisoning the Special Court in The Hague. EULEX police and Special Court police should have it clear that even those deprived of freedom have the rights they are entitled to, to be treated with dignity, according to Kosovo laws and according to international standards for human rights for persons deprived of freedom. With such presumptuous and aggressive acts besides violating the rights of family members of those deprived of freedom, the principle of presuming innocence is flagrantly being violated until a sound decision by competent judges. EULEX police are not that they have been prominent in Kosovo for neutrality or correction because they have always been brought from the position of the strong, ignoring no Kosovo law. This completely unnecessary behaviour of the Special Court Police and the lack of special court transparency will greatly affect further co-operation in dealing with alleged allegations and will affect the unnecessary strain of the situation. At the same time, Rexhep Selim's house is being raided, though he too was arrested yesterday. KMDLNI invites Kosovo institutions to ask EULEX Police and Special Court to comply with Kosovo laws for the fact that Kosovo's Assembly is the founder of the Special Court and, for everything under the Special Court's mandate, Kosovo institutions should testify ownership over this tribunal and not allow arbitrary behaviour and total lack of transparency. The KMDLNI invites all international human rights organisations to monitor the behaviour of the Special Court Police, as well as to consider cases that are handled by this Court for the fact that this tribunal is pursuing suspects exclusively on ethnic grounds, and 95 % of the victims deny basic human right to justice. KMDLNY invites the International Committee for Prevention of Torture to be forwarded and investigates the conduct of the Special Court Police because this is also the principal mandate of this committee.
