During these days, KED is completing an extraordinary investment in Fushe Kosovo. It's about 5 new exits of midmedium 20 kV (kilovolt), three of which have already been released to work, and the other two are released by the end of the week. This is a completely new network and includes the entire Fushesh Kosovo. So the direct beneficiary is every citizen. At the same time, there will be alternative lines for each composer. So if anything unexpected happens on the existing line, or the necessity of any intervention, the consumer is immediately supplied by the other line, not facing power lines.
All these exits, all over the city's entire territory, are underground.
Kosovo is the city with the largest population growth in Kosovo. In parallel, demand for electricity increases dramatically.
KEDS, taking over the situation on its own, overcoming the problem of huge overloads, which during the winter were very promising. Now, citizens of this municipality will no longer have this sorrow after it has been resolved for a long time.
Along with the whole new network, 50 new tratrusions are being replaced, with doubled capacities as well as monitoring stabilisations. During the replacement, planned power cuts are under way, as it cannot be worked under tension and this process takes a lot of time within a day. But this is done to directly benefit citizens.
The Kosovo Fush project is similar to Pristina's megaprojek, which also represents replacing the old network with new ones, doubling capacity, introducing underground cables and creating alternative lines.
Besides these cities, KED has established the underground network or is under way in several other municipalities, such as Drenas, Vushtrri, Istog, Year or Podujevo.
