Hoti: President's name will soon be known or set an election date

Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has said that the coalition government does not have the votes for electing a president, so he says they will discuss with opposition parties, and if they fail to agree, the election date will be announced. Hoti in an interview for Klan Debat has said that a solution will soon be made, and these are the constitutional roads for the coming weeks and months.
It is clear that the country has no president, even under the Constitution, we must elect the new president for his election to at least 80 votes in the Assembly, which the ruling coalition certainly does not have. That implies the need for us to sit down with the opposition parliamentary political parties to see if he agrees to elect the president, which I hope we will do soon. If there is such agreement, then surely we should agree to the date of the elections, of course a proper date for citizens. These are two constitutional routes to be pursued in the weeks and in the coming months”, Hoti said, writes Metro.
Hoti, among other things, has said the country will go to the polls if a common name is not established by all parties.
“I believe that soon the first table of parties will be organised where these topics will be laid. I'm engaged in this. If there is a will for president's election, for concrete names, towards a common name, and if we don't talk about election dates. The other option does not have”, he said.
We remember that currently the president's office is being exercised by the chief officer, Vjosa Osmani.
