New recognitions for Kosovo are continuing to remain hostage to the final agreement with Serbia. Despite Israel's recent recognition under the Washington Agreement, Kosovo institutions are being asked clear strategy for the campaign that would bring new recognition countries. The opposition even estimates that the decision on non-membership during the year in international organisations will affect that there is nothing concrete in the process of bilateral recognition with other states.
Foreign Affairs Minister Melza Haradinaj-Stubla said that during this period she is working with the connoisseur states for establishing good relations and ensuring there will be no withdrawal of recognitions.
After considering that in the past, Kosovo has taken the support of recognised states into international membership as good, without functioning the relationship between itself.
Under several membership initiatives the country has undertaken, there have also been connoisseur states that have not voted at all, or abstained when we have developed membership activities in an international organisation. This has shown accurately that Kosovo in many connoisseur states, its support has taken it for granted. There is nothing he has done to function and build this link in various aspects of common interest. They took steps immediately, and the pandemic allowed me to speak through technology to at least over two-thirds of the cognitive states. Geographically, if it is seen that we have at least made a virtual call or date, we are assured that it will not withdraw recognition. We are in safe, secure relationships. We aim at deepening this relationship, I believe we're okay. We are in the right direction to assure even the connoisseur states that Kosovo has a deepening interest in relations even further”, she said last week on the European integration commission.
And PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Codra requires empowering international mechanisms to extend the lobby so there won't be another stagnation of new recognitions.
Give us a clear strategy for the campaign the Ministry has to make for new recognitions. You said that other than Israel during this phase we have had no information about what Kosovo's new recognition will be. We've had a record in terms of recognitions, so what we need to ask is that Kosovo continue its agenda to extend even more lobbies to empower its international mechanisms and embassies so that these recognitions are not diagnosed. Kosovo does not lag behind in the understanding of recognitions, what we have seen during these years is that recent governments have not had a perspective in understanding Kosovo's international empowerment and new recognition”, she says.
The most skeptical of new recognitions, says Vetevendosje Movement deputy Victory Pacolli-Dalip.
This is the most unprecedented decision any state may have made. There is no country in the world that rules its sovereignty and its right to membership in international organizations... Logs can happen which we've had in the past of this style, which we've made a decision at once here, which has no negative impact. Every step, every declaration and approach that our government makes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs impacts the process of advancing Kosovo in international relations”, she said.
Meanwhile, international relations connoisseur Arben Fetosti says new recognitions are related to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue process.
The new recognition process has long proved to be a stumbling block in a way of the dialogue process with Serbia. Although I still do not see a successful epilogue of this process possible. I think that daily and more it is becoming clear that the international agreement with Serbia requires intervention of international factors”, he says.
In recent years, Kosovo has been enduring new recognitions until there have been claims from Serbia that some states have even drawn recognition to Kosovo.
