Harris: I may be the first woman in this position, but I won't be the last.

At the first gathering before Americans as chosen, Harris spoke of what this moment means to women, writes the BBC.

In her position Harris says her mother “believed so deeply in a America where such a moment is possible”.

In her words Harris says she's thinking of her mother, who raised her and her sister as a single mother and other generations of black, Asian, white, Latin, and local women who have <x0... opened the way for this moment like this”.

“They are the backbone of our democracy”, says Harris, these women who fought 100 years ago for the 19th change, 55 years ago for the act of voting and now in 2020 as the next generation of women cast their votes.

“Ston reflects on their struggle, their determination and the strength of their vision to see what can be set free from what they have been. And I stand on their shoulders. ”

Harris praises Beden for “gux1> to break up barriers and select a woman as his deputy head.

Harris concludes her comments saying he's ready to go to work. She and Beden will handle pandemics, address the issues of racism.

She says Biden will be president of all Americans.
