Haliti: I proposed that the army be called KLA)

Subheader The PDK and one of the main persons in the establishment of the KLA, Xhavit Haliti on the “Debat” RTK's show has said that the liberation army has had principle not to commit crimes and that has been implemented.

There is no case that the KLA has committed any crime like Serbia has. The NLA was demilitarised in 1999 and what happened after this year cannot be described as KLA. There may have been individuals who committed crimes, but this is a prosecutor's job to detect all of those murders”, Haliti said.

He has further added that politics should not interfere in justice.

While speaking of arresting KLA leaders and sending them to The Hague for trial, Haliti has said this has been unexpected for him.

I didn't expect them to be arrested, but the element that committed direct crimes, people who didn't take commands”, he said.

Haliti has said it was Serbian military and police that did terror in Kosovo, but that we did not act to create files and sue them both individually and collectively.

He has since said it was his proposal that the KLA be named by that name.

The proposal has been mine for the army to be called the Kosovo Liberation Army, and then this proposal has been adopted”, he said.
