Participants expressed the opinion that China and Europe should take full advantage of each other's complementary possibilities in technology, manufacturing and capital, in order to seek continued development, jointly meet global climate change challenges and offer more developmental experiences. Green kino-European co-operation will further concreteise the consensus reached by the leaders of China and the EU to promote the industrial transition of both sides, as well as the ongoing development of the globe.
Xie Zahenhua, special adviser to China's Ministry of Ecological Environment for Climate Change, said China would contribute more to reducing carbon emissions by the middle of this century, this is a concrete action for implementation of the Paris Agreement and embodys the Chinese government's responsibility for the next generation. China and Europe have great potential in co-operation in the face of climate change, inciting the global climate systems and in realising quality and green development. The markets of the two sides can complement each other. He hopes China and Europe will develop more co-operation and promote the multilateral process.
Mauro Peticione, general director of the European Commission's climate actions, said Europe and China have long co-operated in the area of climate change, especially in the carbon discharge trade has had close co-operation. The EU is pleased to see China's progress in this direction and hopes to launch the carbon trade market in China.
