“Although the current regulations, which have been in place for more than three weeks, have shown signs of preventing the spread of the virus, it takes more time to ensure security”, Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
“Once again, we must use our strong points”, she added, noting that extended measures can be lifted if there is a sudden drop in the number of cases.
“Unfortunately, this is not predictable, for now”, Merkel stressed.
