The chairman of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association, Petrit Klokoqi, has warned that they will organise protests after the Government's decision on new safeguard clauses against COVIDD-19, which affects the sector.
We're warning two kinds of protests tomorrow. The first is that tomorrow, by 12: 00 p.m. all the gastronoms have to go out in front of their bars with pot and spoons to create a noise and open their eyes to the Government or State of Kosovo”.
” While the second is for Monday, it will be decided how it will be organised, what will be very masovic, but tomorrow 2:00 p.m. we have the collection”, Klokoqi said.
The fact that we gastronoms teach through television about new measures and regulations, that this should be discussed with us. We know that the number of infected has increased, but it doesn't have to point to the whole gastronomia, that this is not a solution that reduces the number, that we've been locked up all summer and that they've all gone to visit the country”.
For us it's a major economic crisis and we don't think it's a solution, if it had been a complete closure, then we had to sit down and talk about economic subsidies”.
“We have called for selective and non-communicable penalties of the premises. Business has been fined that broke the rules and sought protection from our association, but we haven't supported them. So not to have collective punishment”.
I'm not saying that maybe the gastronomy didn't affect the number of cases with COVID-19, but at this time there's been a lot of other closed businesses, such as gyms, theaters, etc., why the finger from us?”.
What are you giving us if you shut us down? If we're based on the region, there are businesses that have been subsidised. Even Europe, for example. In Austria they have covered 80 per cent with economic subsidies. We can't survive, costs are continuing, measures are growing, we're tired of”.
