Gashi: Haradinaj Worthy of President, Special as Serbian Court

AAK deputy chairman Dzafer Gashi thinks his party's chief, Ramush Haradinaj, is the most worthy candidate for the post of Kosovo president. In an interview, Gashi claims the Special is performing the role of a Serbian court, while also talking about recaving another mandate at the helm of Obilic. By [...]
Turning to the post of president, Gashi said Ramush Haradinaj has testified as one of unity and has given much to the republic in recent decades. He also added that political formulas within the coalition give AAK the right to propose the president.
The president's “Post belongs to the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo because even political formulas, coalitions lead in this direction. Then, the Alliance's candidate is Ramush Haradinaj, who at all times, both before the war and during the war, but also after the war has testified as a man of unity, as a man who has given much as a family, for the Republic, and I hope it will be so and eventually become president of the country”, Gashi has said.
The Special Court has filed the first charges against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders, and for Gashi some actions of this institution are unacceptable.
Gashi, himself part of the KLA, said the Special is playing the role of a Serbian court.
“are unacceptable and is disaster. I consider that the Special Court is doing a job of the court of Serbia and are mainly working on documentation that the Serbian state itself has offered and is witnessing. Over 50 thousand pages, various evidence that are forged. We know Serbia and it is a disaster for our deliverers to be there now, and I hope they will come off victorious, as if even in previous battles”, Gashi has said.
Local elections are expected to be held next year, and Xhafer Gashi is expected to seek the confidence of the citizens of Obilici, even for another mandate to be their chairman. He has acknowledged that within the AAK structures there is a mood for him to compete again but awaiting official confirmation.
We've had several meetings that were organised with the center, and actually I've been given the confidence to continue for another mandate, but I believe it's still early to confirm whether or not I'll be”, Gashi says.
