Moreover, Macron, during a visit to the border between France and Spain, has called on other European Union members to strengthen the rules of movement in the Schengen area.
“I am in favour of a deep review of Schengen, that is to reconsider its organisation and increase security at our joint border points”, Emmanuel Macron, president of France, said.
The head of the French state called for European Union countries to take serious measures regarding the rules governing the Schengen area. Macron said such a requirement would be proposed to the European Union during the summit, which will be organised in December.
Meanwhile, Germany has ordered security increases at border points and has established controls as a precautionary measure to avoid the danger of terrorist attacks. The British government has also advised citizens to be as vigilant as they are and has put the state on alert for any irregularities they may encounter.
All this mobilization of the countries has resulted from two terrorist attacks, one of which caused three deaths in Nice, France, and the other 4 dead and 22 injured in Vienna, Austria.
