Two million forgotten

These added security measures come after an unauthorized transfer worth over 2m euros, made on 9 October by a Kosovo Treasury employee to a bank account of a private company.

Lulzim Krasniqi, adviser to Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami, in a written reply, has told Radio Free Europe that the personnel' approaches and authorisations have been revised, increasing control levels and sharing tasks, in line with professional guidelines.

On the basis of these guidelines, he says that currently all processes are reconfigured and the whole situation is under full control and Kosovo budget tools are secure.

Gerjali: Over 2m euros transfer case forgotten

Two suspended officials

After unauthorised transfer of over 2m euros from the Kosovo Treasury, the disciplinary Commission has sponsored two treasury officials in the vertical line of hierarchy -- the officer/manager of the assistant table and the head of the finance management intelligence system division.

Meanwhile, as for other decisions that will be taken in relation to officials or responsibilities regarding the case, Lulzim Krasniqi, adviser to Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami, said actions are being analysed and after the results of auditing and investigation, will be considered the need for other decisions.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has called for the dismissal of Minister of Finance in the Government of Kosovo, Hykmete Bajrami.

Minister Bajrami, during reporting before the Commission for Business and Transfere, has declared that of the 2.1m euros transferred from the Kosovo Treasury, officials have managed to block over 5,590 thousand euros through the accounts where the money was transferred.
