Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has made all preparations for the winter season. Executive Director for Public Relations at KEK Skender Bucolli says he is working on full capacity and that there will be no reductions. “KEK has so far completed all the planned remontes it has had. I [...]
“KEK has so far completed all the planned remontes it has had. He made all the preparations for the winter season. It also provided the equipment from the cold”.
“So far during this nine-month KEK has fulfilled the energy balance plan for both energy production and precise coal production, and we believe that even in the winter months this situation will continue and we will continue to produce with full capacity”.
According to Bucol KEK, there have been no major consequences from the pandemic.
“Absolutely we have so far had no problems in producing ecological energy, or thermal, which serves to warm the citizens of Pristina. So far we haven't had any problems with the pandemic, the working lines” has shown.
Bucolli has also indicated that a total of 69 cases of infected workers have appeared in this company, 23 have been identified as and there have been several deaths.
We've unfortunately had several death cases, actually, based on the large number of workers we have 69 active infected we have 23 identified and we have 80 chronic diseases that we've always released from work”.
According to Bucolli, the low number of cases with Covid-19 has been the result of measures KEK has taken -- such as working on two shifts to avoid contact.
“Take into account the large number of workers KEK has about 4,000 workers the pandemic situation we've overstepped, we can say quite well, even though we've had cases like all over Kosovo. We at the peak time when the pandemic has taken on great momentum we've even worked on two shifts from 12 hours, even though it's been hard enough to avoid contacting workers given that KEK has workers from all over Kosovo”.
“Transport is made by bus, and for this reason we have separated from three shifts we have formed two shifts with which we have greatly reduced workers' meetings”.
Bucolli expects to start soon with the Elecrofiltra project in “Kosovo B”, reports EO.
The “We have actually had a major Kosovo Elecrofiltre B project, which has also been a project acquired by European Union funds”.
This project has stalled because it has to start in March of this year as it is postponed for next year. I hope this pandemic comes to an end and we start with this project that is very important to the environment of Kosovo”.
