Day learning when Rexhep Selimi will stand before Special Court

The former head of the VVA Parliamentary Group, Rexhep Selimi, will appear before the Special Court for the first time Wednesday at 11:00.

The act against Rexhep Selimi was confirmed on October 26, 2020. He was arrested by the Special Prosecutor's Office on November 5, 2020, and transferred to the detention facility of Kosovo Specialised Chambers (DHSK) in The Hague on the same day.

The Act charges Veselin with war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law for various forms of criminal responsibility. Rexhep Selimi's first presentation will be held at the public session. During the first presentation, the prosecutor of the preliminary procedure makes sure the accused's rights are respected, among which the right to legal representation and that the accused understands the charges against him.

Also, the session can be conveyed by the public gallery of the courtroom at the Kosovo Specialised Chambers building in The Hague. And so, The DHSK also has a special media centre in its building in which journalists can work and conduct sessions in a short delay.
