The virus, which has been linked to a market in China's central city after spreading around the world earlier this year, has so far infected over 56 million people and killed more than 1.44 million people, according to reports.
But Zeng Guang, who is former chief epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said the deadly virus is not from China. He mentioned, “Wuhan was the place where the Coronavirus was first discovered, but it was not where it started. ”
Guang also said it was China's previous experience with SARS, which has left an inheritance of monitoring and intelligence that warned them of the choreographer and also spurred their extreme measures for the content of the disease.
“Kina has built a world monitoring leader system to report unknown pneumonia since the outbreak of SARS in 2003. We always stand on high alert. Thanks to this system, we are able to become the world's first to identify Covid-19, “he said.
His claims published by The South China Morning Post came after another senior Chinese researcher argued that the virus was actually imported to China through frozen meat, until the most popular theory that the virus was dropped from animals to people from the city market.
Researchers around the world are currently trying to reveal the origin of destructive diseases. Many experts believe that the Coronavirus originated in Wuhan.
The claims from China came after an Italian study suggested that the disease may have been in Italy since September 2019. But the coauthor of the research said it did not match the origin of the virus.
The new research has questioned when the disease first went into circulation, as evidence of the virus's antibodies was discovered in Italian lung cancer patients from September 2019, three months before the virus was detected in China. An effective vaccine for the deadly virus is expected from the first quarter of 2021
