In this final report, the independent investigation into child sexual abuses had sharp criticism of Cardinal Vincent Nicholls' leadership and says the Vatican's failures to co-operate with the alleged “lin” investigation.
The 162-page report points out: “The negligigation given to the physical, emotional, and spiritual welfare of children and young people before the protection of her reputation conflicts with the mission of love and care for the innocent and the vulnerable. ”
Between 1970 and 2015, the church received more than 900 complaints involving over 3 thousand cases of child sexual abuse against more than 900 individuals, including priests, monks, and volunteers, writes The Guardian, translated Periscope.
During that period, there were some 177 criminal persecutions resulting in 133 convicts.
Sexual abuse of children involved insinuations of <x0mated, oral sex, vaginal rape and anal rape”.
One child had estimated that between the ages of 11 and 15 had been abused by a priest hundreds of times.
When such complaints were made, the church had repeatedly failed to support victims and survivors but took action to protect the suspects by placing them in other parishes. The sexual abuse of children was hidden under the carpet. ”/Periscope
