Bush had also called President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to congratulate them.
He called Joe Biden “a good man who has won the opportunity to lead and unite our country”.
Bush also praised Donald Trump for gaining the support of more than 70 million Americans and said their voices would be “heard through elected Republicans at any level of government”.
We remember Bush led the United States from 2001-09.
