Boguyevci: Shame on how the matter of the missing is being handled

The Kosovo Assembly MP, from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks, Saranda Bogujevci, as the initiative of Kosovo's prime minister's interface, said the government has damaged the dialogue process. She has demanded that Serbia become clear the responsibilities towards Kosovo on this issue, and if she refuses to continue dialogue.

Calling on the promises of 4 September, she said that with a paragraph of missing and displaced alike, something that she thought could not happen.

“We, Kosovo, should have expert teams, draft a document with specific requirements and determine the responsibilities Serbia has towards Kosovo. Set before the table, and if Serbia does not agree then there is no dialogue. This issue will take years, but the process must be led right and well. It's not about boasting, Mr. Hoti, as if you're the only one who's put this topic on the table, honestly nothing better than the way you're handling the missing person case in dialogue”, she said.

She said it is unacceptable the way those found are being treated in dialogue.

“A can tell me how the prime minister defines himself at international conventions of forcibly extinct, undiscovered, displaced, and refugees, do you know that? Did any of the people in the delegation know where this was signed, I don't believe it, because if they knew they wouldn't sign this paragraph, this kind of treatment of the missing would harm the missing and that's not the way it's dialogueed. Kosovo has every advantage of dealing with dignity and insisting on the issue of missing people facing Serbia. And it is shameful and unacceptable to equalise with Serbia in the” dialogue, she said.

Bogujevci has submitted two provisions of the resolution, for which he asked MPs for support.

Resolution:

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo emphasises that the issue of unscathed persons cannot be interconnected conditioned or dependent on any other issue. Kosovo's government should insist on addressing the issue of the found in full harmony with standard and international mechanisms. The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo requires the Kosovo government to refuse to negotiate with any official from Serbia without immediately providing information on the whereabouts of all persons who have not been found in the last war.
