Because of honoring the dead man, Islam has determined that his body be washed, wrapped in a shroud, pardoned the prayer of the Montenegrin Garden and buried in the grave. Applying these rules is a collective obligation for the gamma community, which includes the family.
However, this rule under the Islamic Community of Kosovo may not be found in certain situations. Excepting from this rule, in all cases there is the person whose corpse has been damaged (from accident, oppression, fire, falling from the height, and similar) to the extent that there is fear that water rubs can be disfigured even more.
In this case, it smokes and doesn't clean with water. Cleanup is not even being applied to Muslim people who are dying as a result of COVID-19. The Islamic Community of Kosovo in March this year made a decision not to clean up the bodies of people who die of Coronavirus, and this was done because the disease did not spread.
But is that decision still valid, and how much is the understanding of citizens?
In this regard, the Kosovo Islamic Community has indicated that the decision is still in effect.
Until the Kosovo Government's responsible institutions announce that the country is safe from pandemic in question, and that there is no further danger of spreading this virus”, they have said by BIK.
And this has been agreed with Kosovars who practice Islam, since BIC is aware of the threat of contact with disease, or those who have changed their lives as a result of coronary infection.
“They have expressed understanding and readiness precisely to adhere to the decisions of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, which are obviously for their own good as family and society in general”, have said by BIC for Rtv.21.
But could there be a method by which the washing of people who have died of the Coronacterius would be possible?
That's not what BIK says.
“Since the measures taken by the Government of Kosovo, the Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo have recommended that we do not have contact with the corpse that has changed lives as a consequence of the virus (for the purpose of preserving public health), then we have no other method for cleaning it up, unless the corpse has been cleared and prepared by the staff responsible for cleaning at the hospital morgue “, it is said in response to the Islamic Community of Kosovo.
It is also known that the coffin of such ones cannot be opened, according to Islamic jurisdiction on such occasions, the corpse's religious rituals are performed after burial, and that the soil thrown over the coffin is considered to be the cleanup of the deceased.
