According to the transition team, Mr. Biden and Deputy President-elect Kamala Harris are discussing global issues with their experts in diplomacy, intelligence and defence.
The last few days, many republican lawmakers have said government intelligence officials should inform Mr. Biden before his inauguration on January 20th, even though Mr. Trump continues with his legal challenges to overturn Mr. Biden's anticipated victory, with the aim of staying in office for another four-year term.
Republican lawmakers say surrender to Mr. Biden of the day-to-day information given to the president by American intelligence concerning threats to national and global security are essential to taking power. According to them, Mr. Trump's indictments, by which irregularities are alleged at the polls, as well as in the number of votes can continue in parallel.
But Mr. Trump has repeatedly claimed he is the winner of the election and has refused to accept defeat. Counting votes in individual states shows that Mr. Biden has won more than 270 minimum electoral votes needed to win the race for president, the TCh reports.
Election officials across the country have told the Voice of America and other American media that they have not found evidence for broad manipulation of votes, but only relatively minor cases of irregularities during the voting process, which they say would not be enough to overturn the outcome of the elections even if Mr. Trump won the court processes.
For Mr. Biden to officially launch the transition process, by being informed by intelligence bodies and by having broad access to numerous government agencies, the chief of General Services Administration must sign a document proving that Mr. Biden won the election. Mr. Trump has blocked such an operation from this agency.
In addition to meeting with national security advisers, on Tuesday, Mr. Biden appointed seven key assistants to the White House, along with the other two designated to help his wife, Jill Biden. Last week, Mr. Biden appointed his former assistant, Ron Klein, in charge of his cabinet chief at the White House.
Similarly, Steve Riccetti, a career political expert, was appointed adviser to the president, Louisiana lawmaker Kadric Richmond was appointed senior adviser to Mr. Biden and director of the Office for Public Relations at the White House, while Jennifer O'Malley Dillon, Mr. Biden's election campaign manager, was appointed deputy head of the cabinet.
Mike Donion, one of Mr. Biden's early assistants, was appointed senior adviser, Dana Remus, a lawyer for Mr. Biden's campaign, was appointed as president's adviser, Julie Rodriguez, a former assistant to Mrs. Harris, will serve as head of the office for intergovernmental affairs at the White House, Annie Tomasni, another longtime assistant to Mr. Biden, will be the director of operations of the Oval Office, the office that handles the daily activities of the president.
Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon, former American ambassador to Uruguay, was appointed head of Mrs. Jill Biden's cabinet. The long term assistant Anthony Bernal will be her senior adviser.
“The main staff of the White House consists of individuals who demonstrate commitment to the president chosen for building an administration that proves experience in government and will be ready to produce results for American families on their first day of work“, said Mr. Biden's transition team.
