Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has again mentioned Vetevendosje's idea of taking loans from citizens in time of pandemic.
Ahmeti says the state has over 1 billion euros in the bank, saying the money was taken from citizens but has not been returned to them.
Here's the full reaction:
Dear fellow citizens:
The biggest paradox of the situation in Kosovo that has tremendous consequences on us!
The state/government of the Republic of Kosovo has more than 1 (milliard) Euros collected by ATK and Customs today on November 18th 2020.
Yeah, well, you read 1 MILLIARD.
From decisions the past government has ruled to ban capital investments until the current government's failure to move has accumulated tremendous funds. When the world's main theory is the cost of aggregate demand, we've gone in the opposite direction with savings.
The whole world takes credits to introduce much needed capital into the economy, we've taken money from the economy and we're keeping it in the bank. PRA, except for the crisis, we've been taken by citizens and found no way back.
We don't even need to lend or invent expenses and transfers from the trust. Only half of these funds will be turned into this period through creative programs.
It's not time for accounting. It's time for expendable creativity.
