The Health Ministry has begun to review new measures to prevent the greater spread of coronavirus in the Republic of Kosovo.
Health Minister Armend Zemaj has said that closing borders and restricting movement in the most affected areas of COVID-19 are two of the measures that are under consideration.
Yet, it all depends on the assessment of the epidemiological situation in the country.
“Measures such as closing borders, returning health personnel to border points, restrictions on the number of participants at different meetings, restrictions on movement in the most affected areas, and others are the next measures, under consideration, depending on the assessment of the epidemiological situation in the country”, Zemaj said in an interview for Arbrish.info.
Zemaj said the country's overall closure remains the last option.
The state and citizens do not deserve to go back to where we were six months ago because of minority neglect. What is expected and certainly has to happen is that law enforcement agencies and law enforcement are rigorous with regard to law enforcement and government decisions pertaining to Pandemia management. We will immediately take restrictive measures in any situation, where we find cases of increasing cases, which seem to be happening”, the minister said.
He was told that parallel to the new measures, implementation of measures in force will continue.
Kosovo's “Police, responsible inspectors, but the community itself must implement unequivocally, not allowing us to face a critical situation that puts the health system and professionals in a difficult position, overloads capacities and creates problems both in the economic and social aspect of our state and society”, Zemaj said.
