Disrespecting anti-corranvirus measures in the gastronomy sector and in public institutions, according to Kosovo Health Minister Armend Zemaj, has affected the number of cases with coronary in recent days. Minister Zemaj warned on Saturday that the measures could be tightened if health professionals' recommendations are not respected.

I request today that Kosovo Police and all indiscriminately inspectors, along with municipalities, act urgently in preventing the situation from worsening, along with us”, Zemaj said on October 10th.

In the last two days, on 9 October and 10 October, 159 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Kosovo, presenting an increase in cases, as in several weeks, health authorities in Kosovo registered the lowest daily figure of coronary infection.

As the winter season approaches, concern has also increased that citizens of closed environments - such as cafiteria - frequenting can affect the rise in new cases with COVID-19.

So far the customers of coffee and grass have been sitting outside in the terrace, a decision in line with the health ministry's demands.

Lul Raka, microbiologist at the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (IKSHPK), in an interview given Radio Free Europe, said that with weather cooling and gathering people in closed environments, it is very important to keep distance, masks and personal hygiene, so that there is no increase in the number of cases of coronary infected.

With the cooling of time, the attitude of people on the outside focuses on closed objects, where often there is no ventilation, especially in the cafe where there are people gathering, and these are favourable factors in the spread of the virus, and the third element is seasonal flu”, Raka said.

Even the owners of cafes in Pristina have raised concerns about the work during the winter season. Shkat Hashan owner of “Babel Cafe” in downtown Pristina, tells Radio Free Europe that it will be very difficult to respect distance.

We'll be careful to add because there will be more circulation now because we're close to the winter season. For most establishments it will be almost impossible, it will be very difficult. We will try to stay healthy for people, but it will be impossible to operate locals in this form”, Hashan says.

The chairman of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association, Petrit Klokoqi, says that only Pako and Economic Regeneration can save these businesses from bankruptcy.

I don't think it's going to be much respected because there's no subsidy and it's obvious that when the full rent is extended, payment to staff, water spending, electricity, others, loans and everything else. So how will they survive with two tables at such a great distance?”, says Klokoqi.

Physical Separation Between Tables

Health ministry in easing anti measures - COVID-19 also enabled gastronomy sector to work in internal spaces but with certain rules.

The distance between the tables must be 2 meters, the entrance of the bar should be the temperature measurer for each customer, should be disinfectant at the bar, masks are mandatory for staff, and the music should stop at 9:00, and the schedule is until 23:30.

The coffee owners have proposed to the Health Ministry that they be allowed to make physical divisions between tables.

The best option would be if we made some physical divisions and normally could have room to get the tables into function and I think it would be more accessible to all of us, like business, but also to the health of our customers”, Hashan says.

To keep the physical distance, this bear is located on a coffee shop in Pristina. Pristina, July, 2020.

We can do the glass compartments, wood or flowers in various ways just to have as many tables inside and normally respecting anti-fishing measures as possible. - COVID-19” says Hashan.

The virus soon spreads inside bars

The spread of coronary in inner areas where people gather, such as religious objects, restaurants, or bars, is made more quickly, also known as quickly spreading.

In the United States, for example, a member of a musical choir that was infected but without symptoms of coronary symptoms was involved during the trial in March. Fifty-two people are sick with COVID-19 out of a total of 60 participants, and two have died.

On another occasion in Hong Kong, an explosion in four bars has infected 39 consumers, 20 staff members, and 14 musicians before 33 family members and then their contacts were infected.

Disease trackers have found that musical groups have been present in all four bars, so they may have spread the virus to over 100 people.

According to University data, Johns Hopkins, authorities around the world have reported 36 million people infected with the new choreography. Over a million people are dead.

In Kosovo since confirming the first Coronavirus cases in March, over 16 thousand citizens have been infected, while 645 have died.
