The VV members of the CEC, Sami Kurteshi and Alym Rama themselves, at several successive meetings have demanded that the CEC be lunched I The KKP to reevaluate the situation with pandemic. The CEC had not supported such a request with the argument that the election declaration does not belong to this institution, but to the president of the Republic of Kosovo.
This party had extended public pressure to President Hashim Thaci.

But, now that the elections were announced, this party has changed.
Vetevendosje member in the CEC, Sami Kurteshi, is not enjoying President Thaci's decision. At the CEC meeting, he called the decision illegal. “We have come to a situation when the decree is announced, even though the decree has been announced without consultation with political parties, under the law on local and general elections, Article 4 paragraph 1, the president should consult with political parties, not the CEC. It's become as always done, untransparently, against-tainable”, Kurteshi said.
This choice had also been asked by Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti. He even went to Podujevo with the slogan, and we want elections.
Under the president's decree, elections in Podujevo will be held on November 29th.
