The Vetevendosje Movement considers the Central Election Commission is denying citizens of Podujevo and those in northern Mitrovica the right to vote.
Sami Kurteshi of the Vetevendosje Movement said the issue of holding elections in these municipalities has been raised for five times in a row.
“The CEC is exactly the constitutional institution that must realise the right of citizens to express the will for vote, The CEC is the institution that stands in the way of all possible forms, denial of the right to vote in Kosovo. The CEC, in fact, has lost its meaning in the past seven months. There every attempt is made to deny the right to vote at any cost to”, Kurteshi said at a news conference.
He said problem is also blocking the publishing of political parties' financial reports and blocking the app for registering exiles for voting in Kosovo.
These are two municipalities now seven months without chairman because the mayors have resigned to take office in Government. Now a few months after the anti-legal postponement of elections by Kosovo's president, this subject is now waiting several months at the Constitutional Court, which is silent and gives no verdict, we have raised the issue of holding elections in these two municipalities by five times, he said.
