Kosovo University Hospital Hospital Service Director Valbon Krasniqi has said that at the moment the situation with COVIID-19 is calm and manageable, but the epidemiological situation must be carefully conveyed and compared to increasing numbers with coronavirus to deal with other measures.
Krasniqi said that in view of the situation with COVID-19 in the region and the world, there should be increased care and preparation for any possible situation in Kosovo. The situation with COVID-19 in Kosovo is now calmer, we have it under control, so manageable. We've witnessed that we have a smaller number of new cases in the last three weeks, and as a result, we have a greater number of patients seeking hospital treatment. However, in view of the country's epidemiological situation around the region and other countries of the world, we should be careful and prepared for any possible situation”, he said. Asked whether to begin tightening measures against coronavirus, as Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has warned, Krasniqi said the epidemiological situation should be carefully conveyed and carried out on the basis of numbers.
“We need to follow the epidemiological situation very closely and face the numbers also have to be done”, Krasniqi said of Telegrafi.
And yet, Krasniqi said they are hoping that citizens have already realised that the virus exists, the pandemic is still present and should continue with respect for these measures.
Krasniqi said they expect the citizens' understanding on the implementation of the measures.
Any disrespect of these measures will lead us in the opposite direction and we do not want to walk the way we have been in the past months, especially during July and August. So that's why we expect the understanding and cooperation of citizens in the application of these measures that all citizens already know, are the easiest and least costly measures for each of us, so wearing the mask, keeping the physical distance and personal hygiene”, Krasniqi ordered.
The passage of this difficult period, as Krasniqi said, depends on the implementation of measures taken by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and on recommendations of health institutions.
“If all of us as citizens but also as institutions implement the measures in the best way and to the greatest extent possible, the likelihood is that we will better get through this” period, Krasniqi told Telegrafi.
Otherwise, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has warned that in the coming weeks there may be an increase in the number of new cases with COVID-19 in Kosovo, and, as a result, the tightening of measures is expected.
