The Ukraine Foreign Ministry has announced that Ukraine, under current circumstances, does not see reason to recognise Kosovo's independence.
“Ukraina is steadily monitoring a stable position for non-recognition of Kosovo, given the unconditional respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states within their internationally recognised borders, according to key international legal instruments and the first statute of the United Nations”, Ukraine Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar has declared.
But, Bodnar has not ruled out that recognition could even occur in a near future, though such a decision, he has been linked to the flow of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
“We are convinced that the solution for possible recognition of Kosovo depends, above all, on the results of dialogue and the achievement of relevant agreements between Serbia and Kosovo. Over the past years, there have been significant changes in the situation over the Kosovo issue, above all in a part of the international community's approach to Kosovo issues. Kosovo is recognised by most countries in the world, including Ukrainian strategic partners ( U.S., Canada, Australia, the majority of EU states)”, has declared Bodnar.
Kosovo's recognition by Ukraine has been currentised in late September, when Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar had declared recognition also remains an option.
