In a statement issued by the White House just hours before Mr. Trump resumed campaign gatherings, Dr. Sean Conley said the president had been tested negative for several days using an anti-gen test of Abbott Labs, BinaxNOW.
Dr. Conley said that negative tests and other clinical and laboratory data “indicate a lack of distinctive viral replication”. Mr. Trump's medical team had concluded that based on data and instructions from the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “the president is not infectious to others”, Dr. Conley.
President Trump is returning to the campaign Monday evening with a rally in Sanford, Florida, the first since he discovered on October 2nd that he was positive for COVID-19.
Critics blame President Trump for not encouraging supporters in campaign activities, nor even the White House staff, to wear protective masks and stick to physical distance guidelines.
At least 11 of Mr. Trump's close associates have resulted in coronary infection.
