It has been five years since the Stabilisation and Association Agreement was signed between Kosovo and the European Union, but Kosovo continues to remain without visa liberalisation.
The former chief negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo in the dialogue with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, until it has distributed a photograph of the moment when this agreement was signed, has said it has not been worked enough to fulfil obligations that would enable Kosovo to open the road to membership.
We were very happy five years ago when we signed the Stabilisation and Association Agreement that put Kosovo on the official road to European integration. But we did not work properly to fulfill the obligations that today would enable Kosovo to open the way for membership. And this job has been ours, of Kosovo institutions. While we rightly blame the EU for its non-liberalisation of visas for Kosovo citizens, errors and failures are ours”, Tahiri has said.
